  • Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires donors to value their items. To help guide you, Goodwill Industries International has compiled a list providing price ranges for items commonly sold in Goodwill® stores. Assume the following items are in good condition, and remember: prices are only estimated values.
  • The burden to determine the “value” of your donations is up to you. The charity you donate your stuff to is not responsible for telling you the value of your donations. Fortunately, there are some great resources for figuring out the donation value: The Salvation Army Valuation Guide and the Goodwill Valuation Guide lists the sales prices.
  • The economic valuation of goodwill is based on an interdisciplinary approach that synergistically considers its legal, accounting, fiscal, and strategic aspects. The controversial concept of goodwill (if positive, badwill if negative) has always divided lawyers, businesspeople, and economists and is applied in M&A transactions.

Use this donation calculator to find, calculate, as well as document the value of non-cash donations. You can look up clothing, household goods furniture and appliances.
